As part of this strategy, Gaming1 is looking for a Head of Engineering (HoE) maximizing business and customer value. The HoE creates the conditions for product engineering teams to:
- explore and validate opportunities through experimentation,
- operate with short feedback loops and fast learning cycles,
- make autonomous decisions within clear guardrails,
- uphold high engineering standards while embracing a fail-fast, learn-from-it, blameless culture.
The HoE also ensures the organization remains adaptable to change, continuously evolving ways of working and technology choices as the business, customers, and technical landscape evolve. This role bridges strategy and execution
YOUR ROLE
As a Head of Engineering, you are part of the Product Engineering department, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering and overseeing Engineering Managers across a Product Engineering area.
Your mission is to optimize value creation and organize teams to be autonomous and product‑driven with a customer‑experience mindset, while maintaining high engineering standards, scalability, and talent growth across the area.
You partner with the Head of Product to drive 1–3 year strategic objectives and translate those into measurable outcomes that teams understand and pursue within 6‑week iteration cycles.
You also ensure teams progressively adopt modern engineering practices and tools, including the thoughtful use of automation and AI where it meaningfully improves engineering effectiveness or customer experience.
