THE SCOPE
With 30 years of history, today Gaming1 is one of the international leaders in both land-based and online games of chance (casino games, sports betting and poker). Its evolution at the heart of innovation is accompanied by a diversification and specialization of positions, with the creation of new cutting-edge jobs.
We are scaling our Platform Engineering function to give our Product Engineers a faster, safer, more self-service infrastructure foundation — and we are hiring a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to strengthen the PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ golden paths at the heart of it.
YOUR ROLE
Treat relational data and messaging as code. Make storage and transport invisible — in the best way.
You will sit at the intersection of database engineering and platform engineering, embedded in our Platform Engineering Area. You will own the PostgreSQL golden path on CloudNativePG, operate RabbitMQ alongside the team, and build self-service capabilities with guardrails so Product Engineers can ship without database or messaging becoming a bottleneck.
Your primary technical anchor is PostgreSQL on CloudNativePG. The team also owns RabbitMQ collectively, and you will contribute to operating and evolving it.
- Own the PostgreSQL golden path on CloudNativePG — Provisioning, upgrades, backup/restore, HA, replication, observability — all as code, exposed to product teams as self-service.
- Operate RabbitMQ alongside the team — Clustering, routing, HA, troubleshooting; build reusable messaging patterns Product Engineers can adopt without filing a ticket.
- Build self-service capabilities with guardrails — Scoped, safe data and transport primitives Product Engineers can consume without depending on you for routine work. Surface adoption signals and friction, and iterate — the capability isn't done when it's built, it's done when teams use it without asking you.
- Translate security and compliance into capability flavors — Implement and enforce access controls and encryption standards (ISO27001 baseline); translate regulatory requirements into capability variants so compliance is default-on for consumers.
- Make it observable — Implement and maintain telemetry (Datadog) so reliability is measurable, not assumed.
- Elevate the team — Mentor peers structurally on PostgreSQL and Kubernetes-stateful patterns; raise the bar on automation and operational rigor.
